Especially in South India, it has been a million dollar dream for every (middle class) student from the middle class families to pursue their Master’s Degree abroad, and that too, in the USA, the Land of Opportunities, which is a Great Attraction for the Indian Students ! It’s not really the difficulty in clearing Entrance Exams like
theTOEFL, IELTS, GRE or GMAT that stops them in many cases because preparing for exams and obtaining successful results is a very much adapted format in our education system, after all. What really frightens them is the financial burden involved, with the rupee touching its new all-time low every other day, and having to pay $30-$40 Thousand Dollars for every semester is an unmanageable possibility. Even banks back off in lending such huge amounts against the surety of the small agricultural properties that all these middle class families usually possess.
When we started the Kaushika Krishna Consultancy in SITE (Sasi Institute of Technology & Engineering), our only Intention was to develop the Entrepreneurial Skills in our Students, in order to bring out the Leaders rather than just the Followers into the society. But, over the past three years, it turned out to be something very different than what we had expected. We got a few companies onboard as our students started working on different platforms for different products. No company, till date, has ever thought it was a waste of their time, energy or resource engaging our Students because our Students always awed them with surprise by delivering the needed results in time. For that matter, even we, the staff and myself (Narendra Meka), are very surprised by their dedication.
This Everyday Dedicated work of Our Students not only opened many opportunities for their contemporaries and juniors but much more for themselves, too. Apart from the Intern paycheck every month, they also receive Goodies, Team Outing, Office Tours by the companies they work for, and not only a challenging pay-scale at the end of their Engineering graduation but also Four Students every year get a 100% Scholarship for the Master’s Program in the USA, followed by a promising $80,000 pay scale after the successful completion of the Master’s Program.
However, these prospects are simply unbelievable to many parents as well as the students. Until the first student Eswara Nadh K took the initiative and landed in the USA, rest of them couldn’t believe in the offer with lots of fears in their minds like, ‘What if they don’t pay the fee after couple of semesters, what if they ask us to write a ‘bond of labour ’ to work for them for years together’, etc. These ‘what if’ cases of unnecessary doubts raised by pessimistic relatives and friends made the other three students from the First Batch panic, and they couldn’t even make it to the US Consulate for F-1 Visa Processing. .
Once our torch-bearer, Eswar and Family believed in the Initiative and as he landed safely inCleveland State University, Ohio, USA, everything including the Fees was taken care of by the Eficens Systems. Since then, Eight of Our Students have earned theirwings of freedom and finance to educate themselves in the finest of universities abroad, and explore the world at their own pace.
When we delve deep into these Achievements, it would be apparent that it’s not just their careers alone, but the entire family prospect itself has been upgraded to a completely new privileged version ! Here , we are talking about the Eight below middle class students who dreamt big and beyond their peers, worked their way through challenges, took the initiative of commitment and hard work, sat in KK Consultancy after the usual working hours, at times, even till 10 PM , completed tasks and earned their badges of real time experience for a minimum of one year up to a maximum of three years, with a real time project or product in hand. Apart from this, they had a huge confidence to venture into the world, not just to follow but to conquer. This, in fact, made all the difference !
Education can enlighten and take anyone to greater heights of infinite success, only, when a mentor envisions his Students future with a strong Positive Belief and the Student also continuously cooperates to realize his full potential and to blossom proudly. Our Heartfelt Thanks to such Mentors who believed and supported the initiative from the start by lending their valuable time and resources.
